Don’t you love it when other people know what’s best for you? There we were for years with a simple, easy to use menu to work from the Start button in Windows. Everyone knew it and more or less liked it. Then Windows 10 comes out and just KNEW we didn’t want it anymore! Better to give us a bunch of boxes and sorta hide all the regular things like printers, control panel and how to setup our screen saver (so we could invest some time getting to know the new Operating System). RIGHT!

For those of you who would love to travel back to the “Good ‘ol days’ of a practical menu, even if you are now using Windows 10, I have the solution: Classic Start!

Use your favorite browser to go to www.ninite.com. This is a safe and very cool website that has the latest versions of lots of free downloads of familiar programs. (look around the choices when you get a minute). For Classic Start, just check the box in front of it (you will find it under the section of Utilities), and then click the blue GET YOUR NINITE button to download and install it.

It should only take a minute or so to download and install it on your computer. Once installed, you will probably see that your “start button” looks like a sea shell. Click on it and you will already have a Windows 7-like menu. If you right-click and go to settings, you can further customize it by turning on and off items to your personal preference.
I have used this product on many of my clients PC to make using Windows 10 easier.

I hope you will find it helpful. If you don’t care for it, you can always uninstall it, or right-click on the start button and click exit to go back to the Windows 10 default mode. Enjoy!
